Another Instafreebie Giveaway! This one is all epic and questy. It includes a preview of my new book Fixing Forcalquier (Buy it Now!) but there might be some good stuff too.

Apollo – a celebration
On this lazy Sunday afternoon, I have just read Apollo, a graphic novel from Self-Made Hero publishers.
In words and beautiful pictures, it tells both the factual and the human story of the first moon landing. The 50th anniversary of that event happens next July, on Earth.
The creators are all British persons but perhaps that gave them some distance from it. All the relevant details of the mission are there but the situation back on Earth is shown too: Armstrong’s worried wife, Aldrin’s grumpy father and self-obsessed President Richard Nixon. It really is a great read and I’d recommend it.
I’m currently writing a review which should appear on sfcrowsnest in a few days.
Beach Reads starts today
The Instafreebie Beach Reads Giveaway starts today and features a five chapter preview of my new book Fixing Forcalquier along with many other books by indie authors.
The Horror and Sci-Fi Giveaway continues and I’d like to mention Anti Life by Allen Kuzara, which is free therein. I picked it up because I liked a short story of his in Phantaxis August 2017. I couldn’t put it down! Really solid outer space SF in a far-flung future where corporations and statists are opposed. I’m still reading it.
In a very different vein, there’s A Baker’s Dozen of horror stories by David Six. I’ve read the first few and he gets right inside the mind of psychopaths in a disturbing way, which is the point of horror, I guess.
You know, some of these indie authors are really jolly good.
